When we arrived at the hotel from the airport, we were early. But the front desk had a room for us and were able to actually get into a room right away. They gave us a great room with an amazing view. We booked the room with the ocean view and were very happy with what we got. We could see Diamond Head and we can see the ocean all in one view. The elevators were fast for having 44 floors. The staff were friendly and helped us with what we needed really fast, whether it was new towels or more body wash they were great! The pool and 6th floor in general was great. The room was sadly a bit small for two adults and 2 teenage boys, but that is what it is. With the kitchenette in the room it was convenient so we can go to a store and get snacks and food. The location was only blocks away from the action and beach. Loved the location.
Island colony is not your standard rental— and that’s a good thing. It’s part condo, part, part AirBnB location; but that’s not a bad thing. Why is it nice? - you get the amenities of a former hotel, with the privacy of an AirBnB. Pool. Laundry you can do yourself. A stunning Dinner. A full sized fridge. A mini mart with a decent selection of hard liqueur. What’s not to like?
Overall, not the best place to stay. VERY convenient location. Everything is within a 15 minute walking distance. Store located on the 6th floor and breakfast spot downstairs in lobby area. This is what the 3 stars are for. The lack of 5 stars comes from the room. The rooms were dated and almost EVERYTHING had a stain on it. The shower pressure was not good at all. Made a reservation for a king bed for my husband & I but got a room with two queens. When we asked to switch there was nothing available. I will stay somewhere else if I come back to Honolulu :)
Front desk lady: Kat or Cass or Cath Called the 1st time asking how many people the studio sleeps, she confirms it's 5. Called 2nd time 10 mins later, she says it only sleeps 4. After a conversation full of attitude with this lady, she put me on hold for 30 mins. That should tell you how great their service is. Cancelled my booking solely based off her tone/attitude/customer service. Enjoy your stay everyone!
0 stars. I would not recommend going to this place. They make it hard for you to get room service. They’re rude when yelling at everyone in the jacuzzi to get out 2 minutes before closing. Then the manager acted aggressively trying to get in our way while walking to our hotel, demanding our room number then calling the cops getting us kicked out of our hotel at 9:45 at night. Stay far away from this place.
