We had an exceptional dining experience at Basalt in Waikiki. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive and made us feel truly welcomed. The volcanic ash rolls were a unique delight, offering a distinctive flavor that set them apart. Both the pasta and chicken wings were cooked to perfection, showcasing the chef’s expertise. We highly recommend Basalt for anyone seeking a memorable meal in Waikiki.

My wife and I pick out one fancy dinner on every trip we go on, and Basalt did not disappoint! We both had the prime rib, and they did a great job bringing it out at the exact medium rare we like. It was really delicious! We also had the fried rice and espresso martinis. Another plus to this place is that it's right on Duke's Alley, where you can walk off the food a bit and buy some cool souvenirs.

Their charcoal pancakes are literally the best pancakes I’ve ever had! I don’t like super sugary-sweet pancakes, so these were perfect. The strawberry-guava sauce gives it just enough natural sweetness and even the whipped cream on top is more creamy than sugary. Also, the service rocked. Our server went out of his way to inform us about a local festival that he thought we’d enjoy and even brought us the celebration schedule. Highly recommend.

Went for happy hour. They shrimp ceviche was the bomb. Had a small kick to it but so good. The steak taco were lacking and covered in grease. I would skip. Lots of things around in the little shop to try as well. Large bar area with a good bit of seating. 1 drink and 2 apps less than $40

This place was unreal good. Literally top 10 breakfast ever. The charcoal pancakes blew my mind and my wife loved the Benedict. I've sent friends and they too had a similar experience. Absolutely recommend and get some pancakes!!!
