We booked a hotel in Honolulu last minute so there was limited availability. We weren't expecting to enjoy our stay like we did. There is nothing special about the hotel. It was quiet and clean. We arrived at 9:45 am and we were able to check in early which was nice. The pool was never busy. We never had to wait in a line for the elevator or breakfast. The guys on the lower level were kind and stored our bags for the afternoon after we checked out. The location is convenient. The bed was comfy! They even had free ukulele lessons.
My husband spends half the year with Hilton and we have never had the problems with billing at hiltons except for this location! We were over charged for our stay and then an additional charge was made the following day and although the finance dept Irene was nice and agreed we deserved a refund , one was never given after promised. We still today are owed 275.63 and have had to file a discrepancy with our credit card company to dispute charges! It’s been a huge hassle and after staying at this location many times in the past , we will not be returning. I do not recommend this hotel! They don’t treat their highest Hilton members well at all!
We have stayed at the Doubletree Alana several times and it never disappoints! The location is wonderful and within easy walking distance to beaches, restaurants and shopping. The guest rooms are well appointed, always clean, and very comfortable. We’ve had beautiful ocean views as well as gorgeous mountain views! The restaurant has a delicious breakfast buffet with abundant choices that are sure to please a hearty appetite. The employees are very friendly; from the front desk, to housekeeping, as well as the valet staff, we are always greeted with a smile and many of them remember us from prior trips…it’s nice to feel that you are among friends while you’re here! Special shout out to Royce who exudes the aloha spirit and goes above and beyond to make sure we are well taken care of! We’ve had many wonderful stays here and highly recommend Doubletree Alana to anyone coming to Oahu!
Bought a day pass to use the pool and gym for only $27.00 for an adult pass. Valet parking included. Very nice staff and a great time. Valet checked any belongings for free. No locker purchase is necessary. We took a short walk about 7 minutes to the shops for gifts and to see this beautiful sunset. We were the only ones at the pool for the first 3 hours, and then only one older couple came to the pool. If you want relaxation for an affordable price, book here. 😊
Hotel is in need of a major refresh but the staff (front desk, valets, housekeeping) were friendly and helpful. We had 2 rooms (1 king suite, 1 double queen suite) and both were clean, but one of the queen beds had a hole in the sheet about the size of a silver dollar. We mentioned it to the maid and she replaced it. The king suite had 2 closets but one of the closets did not have a closet rod so it was useless and one of the bedside reading lamps was burned out. The king suite had a generous sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The water pressure was fantastic and hot water was plentiful. The sliding doors to both of our lanais were difficult to slide so they need a bit of maintenance. The electrical outlets in 820 were loose and plugged in items kept falling out and there was no toilet paper on the spindle. Fortunately, there was a spare roll under the sink. There was only one chair for 820 so we requested an additional chair and it was delivered quickly. Both rooms were very quiet even though they were right next to the elevators and ice machine. The famous Doubletree cookies were fabulous and unlimited.
