We enjoyed ourselves at Hula, both on Maui and Oahu. Both are amazing restaurants that did not disappoint. Hula seems to understand some folks like a good slow pace to eating. Enjoying the environment, the food, and the company. The waitress at this particular location was very kind, understanding, and extremely helpful. She treated us with respect and kindness. We stopped in during our Ten year anniversary Hawaiian "tour" and didn't realize at the time that they are a part of the Duke's franchise as well, so naturally we were gifted a "hula pie"at the end of the meal - to celebrate us and our milestone Thank you helping us make our trip to Hawai'i memorable.
The wait staff was attentive. The food was delicious. We had the Caesar salad and grilled fish. The mashed sweet potato with the fish was very well done and had a unique flavor. Hula Pie became an instant favorite for us to finish our meal. The restaurant atmosphere is a standard beach restaurant with a neat walkway and lovely to hear ocean waves as you dine.
Gorgeous ocean view, we loved the fish tacos-- Marlin with a wonderful grilled flavor. Definitely will come back before we leave. Awesome service! Very fast and attentive. Came back for dinner... OMG! Great Bartender. The coconut risotto is amazing!!
Overall, it is a great location on the beach and the location wins this place. We got there for the happy hour cocktails. They weren't the tastiest cocktails but for $13 or so, I can not complain. The full price cocktails on the menu looked really good though. I enjoyed the atmosphere and they had live music even at 4pm in the afternoon - lots of the other places were just setting up. I would look forward to coming back! The bar tenders were also proactive in letting us know that they had extra parking.
Came for dinner during the week - great spot in the outdoor mall area but you really need to book the day(s) before if you want the sunset and full experience with live music. Food was great, service was on point and staff was very amicable. Steak is fantastic as is the fish tacos. Adult drink selection is also pretty good.
