Our experience at this hotel started on a great note thanks to James at the front desk. He was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely seemed to love his job. His natural conversation and helpful attitude made check-in a breeze and set a positive tone for our stay.
As for the room, we did notice some sand under the blanket, which was a bit unexpected. Housekeeping was quick to assist and replaced the bedding without any issue, which we appreciated.
Overall, the highlight of our stay was definitely the exceptional service from James. His hospitality truly made a difference!

The public spaces and architecture is beautiful and regal, and the location is great. The rooms are large and clean, and our views were wonderful (high floor, city views). We had very few interactions with the staff, but each interactions was great. The biggest con I have is the lack of "convenient" wheelchair accessibility between the ground floor and the 1st mezzanine level. I took 10 to 15 mins to go from our room to outside of the hotel. I made the thought of leaving or returning to the hotel extremely exhausting.

The room itself is excellent. Very clean, great bed and pillows. Shower has a bathtub and provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash is great.
We had some minor issues and the front desk staff was less than helpful at times.
I would not book here again due to location. Construction close by made it impossible to sleep past 7am and an afternoon nap in the room was completely off the table. Constant grinding and construction sounds were awful.
Warning to future guests: avoid if construction is ongoing, you will not rest.
Edit: construction continues even on Saturday

It was our first time to visit Hawaii and did not regret staying in Hyatt. Everything is walking distance. Stores, restaurants, malls, zoo, beaches and coffee shop are just few walks away.
We paid for an ocean-view room on the 35th floor and it was worth it, the view was stunning! You can see the sunset from the beach and the breeze was perfect! We even get to see the fireworks display during the Honolulu festival (from our balcony!).
I can hear the traffic/sirens/music from below at night but it didn’t bother me at all (I noticed it gets quiet after 9pm) and only heard the construction once for a few minutes in the morning.
Most of all, I love their Spa bath essentials from Na Hoola (exclusively for Hyatt customers) they smell so good!
Would highly recommend this hotel to my friends!

An old refurbished building, chipping away. Unfriendly staff that bother people Don’t waste precious money or time here on anything! Unsafe and unclean as well! Obese incompetence everywhere. Also don’t waste your time with a rip off so cold day pass, it’s a total scam that is only allowed to be used for the pool “scam”they say you can’t use the lounge room, totally disgraceful ) total scam garbage waste of money can’t use the amenities you paid for! This experience is more of a personal regret than anything enjoyable whatsoever and a waste of precious time overall, your most precious resource ! Definitely don’t waste your time here in this sewer. We thought it was maybe worth it for free only but nobody wants it free either! That’s why nobody wants to pay in the first place. Unsafe area homeless and filth all around! Jacuzzi tile is chipping away. The structure itself and the so called bungalows are unsafe almost breaking when the wind blows it’s a disgrace! ! The bathrooms have no ventilation whatsoever and are stinky filthy. We have to search for something to have to hold them open when we use the restroom ! Get a clue right ? This is really low level Third World actually third world had better ventilation this is supposed to be a Hyatt lol or like a sewer like the rest of Waikiki ! Don’t bring your children here. It’s unsafe and unsanitary.. the cockroaches and filth that’s another story. We also learned that the building was a refurbished building. It used to be an embassy. You can see the paint eroding, on the outside of it have a look! Look closely at everything and search for signs of quality rather than a cheap fix! There was no pleasure whatsoever. It was just pain and a complete waste
You have been warned!
Here are some pictures of this. If you look around the slum more you’ll see some of this in outer sides of the buildings. You’ll see this in Waikiki in general a real slum in general just cheap incompetence anything to save a buck and try to make a dollar . Low education cheap quality try to save money on and on look deep look at your surroundings.
