This place gets a bad rap in my opinion. We had a really great one night stay here getting ready to fly back home. Yes the rooms are a little dated. It’s not a five star hotel. Our room was large and comfortable. Maria at the front desk could not have been more helpful. It’s a short walk to great restaurants. People need to realize they are not booking the Hyatt Regency. Great hotel for $200 a night on Maui.

Based on the price of this hotel, we did have higher expectations. I think some basic maintenance on the building could make a big difference in customer experience. Everything just felt a little rundown and not taken care of. The rooms were a very nice size and I was able to move around in my wheelchair (16 inch seat) everywhere except for in the toilet room. Also to note for accessibility, there is no ramp to get to the view of the ocean on the property. You have to climb five or six stairs. We were also disappointed to find lots of trash down by the water. Overall, if it were a cheaper hotel I would be pleased, but I would not say that it is worth what you are charged.

Rooms are small but very cozy. The staff is amazing! Maria at the front desk was so helpful when our flights got delayed and we came a day late, she was so kind to help adjust our accommodations. Not much for a beach access but this is not the side of the island for “beaches” so it’s understandable. The views still amazing, it’s Hawaii can’t complain!

It was written Room with a big double bed but there was only a small bed for two. The price we payed is 5 Star but the Hotel is maximum 3 Star, very old and not even a Restaurant because its under renovation. So everybody has to go out for food. The TV its not working. I would never reccommend this Hotel.

The ocean view from our room was the best part and the staff were truly amazing and personable. We appreciate the water bottles provided and the gift snack basket provided. The dining hall is under construction so there was no food on site except the small snack shop. Which made it feel like a ghost town. We went to the sister hotel on the first night and ate at TANTES which was not good at all. Killed a roach while at our eating table. Food was below standard, wait time was forever and it was so hot in the building I had to go outside multiple times to cool down (during the night hours). The Maui Beach Hotel reminded me of staying at a hotel 6. The room & bathroom floor had many thick black strands of hair all over. My kid dropped his slime/playdough toy on the ground and we picked it back up to find tons of hairs attached. Had to throw away. It was like the room was never vacuumed. Found 1 dead roach on the floor next to bed and killed 2 roaches in the bathroom. Definitely not our ideal lodging for vacation / babymoon. I will say the first night I slept amazing and very comfortable considering I'm unfomfortably pregnant. The 2nd night I didn't sleep AT ALL... due to unrelated food poisoning incident where I got to know the bathroom floor very well. 😞 Location was amazing because we were 5 minutes away from the hospital where I had to go to the E.R. from the unrelated food poisoning situation.
