I hate a place that is so strict! My friends and I go to dance on the dance floor and a rude man puts out ! We are tourists and this kind of attitude doesn't matter well for a discotec! No and I don't recommend a place like that!
If there is someone gay in your group, forget going here. My graduating college senior granddaughter brought 7 of her friends to Hawaii for spring break. They chose to come here after Velvet closed and were met by a very rude and homophobic bouncer who complained about the shirt one of the young men was wearing and wouldn’t let him in. I am a Kamaaina tutu and was appalled by the treatment this young man received from the bouncer. Now that I have read the other reviews of bouncers at Playbar, I should have warned my group to stay away from this venue. This is NOT a welcoming or respectful place for an evening of dance and spending money. Avoid it at all costs. They do not deserve your patronage.
Thursday night was a bit quite. Last time I went there on a Saturday night and it was pretty good. DJ was playing mainly hiphop/RnB. Cover Charge was 10$.
Trash. Went last night to get a couple beers and maybe make friends and have fun. Bartender was great and the only reason it’s not a one star for me. Only girls in there are trying to sell cat.
Pretty cool nightclub experience although more dead than I expected, but there's a $20 card minimum so be prepared if you're pay by card. I heard it picks up late night but on vacation I'm in bed by 12am and it was still dead.
