After disembarking our cruise ship, we wanted to try a highly-rated local spot and stopped at Sparky’s Food Company for some authentic Hawaiian food. We ordered two plates to go—Loco Moco and Chicken Katsu. While both dishes had the authentic Hawaiian flair and were packed with flavor, we weren’t overly impressed with the food overall. That said, the service was fantastic! The young woman who greeted us was super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The vibe inside was cozy and inviting, creating a great atmosphere to enjoy a meal. Despite the place being almost packed, our order came out surprisingly fast, which was a huge plus as it helped us get back on the road quickly. Overall, a solid spot with great service and a nice ambiance, though the food didn’t quite wow us as much as we had hoped. Still worth a visit for a quick and friendly Hawaiian food experience!
Sparky’s Food Company has an amazing Hurricane Poke—super fresh and packed with flavor. The shrimp was delicious too! I love that it’s a locally owned spot. Definitely a must-try if you’re in Maui!
Very surprising experience in the most positive way! Judging by the location and store size, we didn’t expect such high quality food. Note: Don’t judge a book by its cover. For an early lunch, I had the Mochiko dish in size mini and it was plenty for me. The price-ratio was great and the food came quickly. Extremly happy with the visit and highly recommended to anyone!
You know when you pull up to a restaurant with great reviews in an unassuming place that it’s about to rock your world. We loved everything we ordered. You can’t go wrong. They were understaffed but the single waitress was so on top of everything and friendly. She made us feel like friends. If you’re in the area this is a must hit. Lots of locals coming in for takeout - you know it’s legit.
The other reviews were spot on. Even though we went later than normal, final hour. The service and the food were both still amazing! Would certainly return again. It was my final meal in Maui this trip, and it certainly had me leaving on a good note. The price was slightly on the higher side, but the quality is 100% there.
