We reserved close to 30 rooms for family and friends here for our daughter's wedding. We chose this hotel because we have stayed throughout Waikiki and feel it offers a great value for the money. Sure, you can spend $1,200+ per night and maybe find better, but at these prices it's really a diamond in the rough. It also offers a more boutique hotel flavor so if you are traveling with a group, meeting at the pool or want to be together for breakfast it really is easy and you don't have to navigate long lines and long walks like in a massive resort. Despite the hotel being at 100% capacity, we felt the service was outstanding and attentive. We had little wait for meals or pool service. Alecia at the front desk helped secure an early check-in and made sure all of our rooms were strategically placed near each other. Max in catering set up an amazing, catered gathering for us and was tireless in his commitment to making sure it went perfectly and fit our budget. Tom, who served at our party kept food fresh and anticipated anything we might need. Marietta (I think) in housekeeping always had a big smile and towel sculptor to celebrate our daughter's big event. The water views are really perfect to watch sunset from your lanai and our view of Friday night fireworks at the Hilton was top drawer stuff. We visit the Hawaiian islands annually. Considering that all of Hawaii is experiencing labor shortages post pandemic and all hotels now have their shortcomings, the Modern is really doing a solid job! We had a simply magical time at the Modern Honolulu and a big shout out to all those employees who made it so special.

Just enjoyed a five night stay with my family and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay after seeing wildly mixed reviews. We had two partial ocean view rooms (king and double), and the rooms were just that, a partial ocean view overlooking the harbor and ocean in the distance. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was prompt! The front desk and staff were kind and helpful. Parking was affordable and easily accessible. The pool and poolside restaurant and bar, the Grove, was amazing. Food was great, quick, happy hour was fun, and just overall awesome. So many restaurants within walking distance. The publicly accessible lagoon is a short walk. I personally loved the location of this hotel because it was removed from the cluster and chaos of downtown Waikīkī. And just to respond to others specific comments, our air worked wonderfully and the wooden shutters to the bathroom close completely, so yes, there is privacy. This hotel is a solid and affordable option and I’d definitely stay here again.

Spent 9 days Spring break vocation with my son here and we were both impressed by Hilton's management and services. The front desk was welcoming and help to offer a room by 2pm(Thank you, house keeping!) so that I can take a rest earlier after over 13 hours flight to Honolulu. The concierge offers many free activies such as Yoga, Hula lessons, Ribbon Lei weaving as well as plenty of paid but discounted activities(Whales watching, surfing lessons, snorkeling, Byodo-in Temple excursion...etc). Room is cleaned and spacious. We had a twin bed room with large glassed window sea view. House keeping came everyday diligently and keep our room tidy and spotless.
On the day of departure, I specially checked my room before I checked out to ensure I didn't left any item in the room. However, when I arrived the airport, I was shocked to find out my passport was missing!! The front desk responsed quickly when I called back and the security team was amazingly detail to dig out my passport from my room. Special thanks to James Meaole, Safety & Security assistant director, who voluntarily delivered my passport to the airport quickly so that I would be able to catch my long haul flight. I would have to wait for another day for the flight back home if I couldn't get my passport in time.
Thank you so much to the Hilton team to give us such a memorable vocation in Hawaii. It was my first time to Hawaii and I would like to come back again !

I really enjoyed my stay here, it’s the perfect location - away from the business of Waikiki (but a short walk away), close to Ala Moana Shopping Center, the beach, and restaurants. Definitely not as crowded as the hotels in the heart of Waikiki.
A+ / 5 Stars goes to the “Valet” team who never hesitated to greet me entering and also helped me with getting waters when the Concierge lines were so long.
A++/6 Stars goes to Eva in the Concierge. Her friendliness, positive energy, and customers service is impeccable.
The restaurant staff were ever so friendly and the food was definitely fresh and so good!! Maybe not reasonably priced, but good enough to eat my breakfast there every morning.
I’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful hotel in a quiet corner of Waikiki! Our room was modern (as promised) and spotless, and we had a beautiful view of the sunset over the ocean from our “city-view” balcony. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, and the hotel had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our week in Waikiki. Self parking at the hotel is great - $33 per night with easy access to the garage.
