Cool tradition every Friday night! It's VERY popular - there are people who set up and camp out all afternoon to see the fireworks, and enjoy the beaches while they're waiting. The show itself is pretty short, but you are right next to the fireworks, which is pretty cool. They clear out the docks/rocks area, and the side of the small beach in front of the Hilton that's between the two beaches, because the fireworks are set off from the beach (basically right where the Google maps pin is located) and they do vacate the area about 30 min before the fireworks start. The beach is a great viewing spot, though crowded. The turf area is also nice, but you need to set up a little early to get a prime spot. Definitely worth seeing if you happen to be in the area, but very short if you're driving out especially to see it unless you just really like fireworks or want to see them from a beach.

The perfect spot to see the Famous Friday night fireworks display while in Hawaii is on the beaches outside of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, as the fireworks are shot off on the beach near the lagoon. If you are driving to get the perfect place to see the fireworks, the parking lots fill up before sunset.

The fireworks were pretty but here is what I recommend if you want to see them. Show up more than an hour in advance to get a parking spot. DO NOT park on the side of the road. We did just like some other people and we got towed. The car behind us didn’t tho because people were in their car which I think is ridiculous that nothing was done to them. So be careful and make sure you’re in a proper parking spot. Even if you think being away for 10 minutes is fine, it’s not… we were away for 5 minutes and our car was gone.

Friday night fireworks while staying in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Feel the close view of fireworks lighting the sky right at the beach.

Went to the fireworks normally on Friday, I was met by two individuals not identified telling me I couldn’t sit where I decided to sit. They had no badge of authority. They had no ID. They were extremely rude. When challenged, they admitted that they didn’t work for the fireworks company. They were just third-party individuals that decided that this was a good time for them to do a power plane. It is sad that this is the way things are now in the US More people challenged and then they soon left I understand safety and wish to be safe myself however, hiring thugs is not a good idea
